Program Overview

The overall project goal is to contribute to sustainable potable water supply, increased agricultural production and rational use of water resources in rural areas of Morocco. Started in 2009, the $743,000 project will complete all activities by 2011. The activity has two specific objectives:

• Increase access to improved potable water supply sources, and improve hygiene practices and local governance of water for vulnerable rural populations
• Improve water use practices by small farmers in intensive agricultural production areas to enhance livelihoods and ensure environmental sustainability
